  • Why is it always so windy?

Newbies have more of a challenge with the elements especially wind with smaller Helis.

Now that I have started flying I have found it is always windy. I look forward to Hot weather and calm days.

After the wind free night a couple of days ago and managing to put 2 packs thro' without damage I'm not going to be so impatient in the future, money saved now will help later when things are going to cost a lot more.
So it's msr or sim until the wind dies down :-(

At the Basingstoke club, it's always windy. It's something you need to get used to in this country unfortunately or you'll find you won't fly. Something bigger than a Blade 400 would certainly help.

Know what you mean, my TT325 hopefully will be finished in the next week or so but I'm still trying to find somewhere near Halesowen West Mids where I can fly it, hopefully with someone who knows how to fly it.

One advantage you have is that you can buy yourself the 360mm blades and it'll handle the wind better. It is very difficult though when you're starting. I've found the TT360 very twitchy and difficult in wind so I've just ordered a PT600esp. Should get lots more chance to fly now

I live in Tarifa in Spain. Its the windiest place in Europe. Last year i started with a 450 but spent most of my time looking out the window. Now i have a 500 and 600 so get out a lot more. But you know whats the most fun and can handle strong wind? The MCPX. I was flying yesterday in 20mph wind no worries

Wind is designed as a training aide for noobs.... If you can learn to fly with a bit of a breese then you will learn to correct for the enviroment as well as the opperator... you will end up flying better...

Saying that i did half a battery on me 450 way too buzy for me and was playing with a nitro bike for the rest of the day .... loads o fun.....

I'm having the same problem. Wind hasn't been below 11mph really for the last 4 weekends in a row. Fortunately I have the mcpx and a sports hall I can use anytime for free so I can keep practicing the circuits. But its getting a bit boring now, I want to play with my nitro

                        It's not the 11mph steady wind..it's the 36mph gusts...although for a change it's forcast to 43mph later tomorrow so that'll make the 36mph seem calm :-)

I've flown up on top of a mountain when it was breezy down below, but not a breath of wind on top.... Weird
