  • just saying hi

hi guys ,,very new to the heli scene ,,just bought myself a honey bee king 3 ,,never flown a heli before although i have had about 20 hours on the sim ,,ive been told it needs setting up ,now being a complete novice i dont know how to do this and have no gauges etc etc ,, was wondering if theres anyone close to me that could lend a hand and be my hero ,im in stoke although i dont know what im doing im sure that after hours of searching and messing about i could get it quiet right by myself after buying the pitch gauge and setting the gyro etc etc but theres nothing like the experience of a flyer as im aware from racing cars and boats that all is not what it seems when it comes to setting up and manuals are just a basic starter ,,you cant beat the hand on from some one who knows what thjere doing ,,thanx in advance ,,bryn

Welcome to the mad house, money pot, best hobby in the world!
Enjoy it, learn by your mistakes, be patient and prepare to be skint all the while....if your serious thats the way it is. Dont be bothered about crashes we all do it, especially us beginners - just learn what you did wrong and remember to try not to do it again LOL
            Safe and happy flying

hi guys thanx for the warm welcome,,yes they are suppose to be ready to fly but this is a second hand unnit and i i found out its had a crash and so they replaced all the plastic bits on the rotor and tail with the alloy ones ,now fisrt thing ive found is that one of the servos is shot so he said he would replace it ,i took the blades off this morning as i was told that the bar that connects them needed shimming (i dont know the names for the parts yet its the bar that holds your blades on to the rotor head,)while the blades were off i thouht id power it up and see if i could try to allign the fly bars with the swash plate (by holding it up eye lever and running it to see if they were level and tru ) when i did this it nearly fell out of my hand ,there alot of vibration and the main gear gog moves up and down on the motor sprocket,,,is this normal ,,is there suppose to be this much vibration or is the main shaft a little bent ,looks like ive got week and week of messing before i even hit the lawn to break it again lol ,

                Not good bryn

Sounds like some damage done.. you being a newbie, I can understand its all rocket science to you but its actually quite simple mechanics .. However you need someone to come by to do that or send it off for someone to do it (Moonmanflyer (James) offers a service)... I learnt from the net and this place.. If no one can take you up on helping then look Here... Honestly, its like a bible to newcomers and has alot of info for newbies and experience people.. good luck
