Soory to hear this, but if thats all your helis on your avatar den I fink you have too many helis for a beginner, sell a few and use the cash on the 450 and go from there... Im a beginner too , and i admit i only have a mini titan and 120sr and I dont have time to fly and its leading to me giving up, but i no i will enjoy when I do learn to fly, I just need to get myself sorted to have time and patience, and i also cant be bothererd with the sim.lolCiaranMal1

If nothing else keep on the sim...that doesn't cost anything and will keep you up to speed.
I am also a new flyer, been mucking around at the indoor flying hall with the 120sr, and recently got a 450, which I smashed up even before its maiden flight. Been waiting for the parts for over a week now, even though they were sent recorded next day guaranteed, thats a joke, and I am also feeling cheesed off because I haven't been able to fly for the last couple of weeks...but the sim is the only thing keeping me going!
You will only regret selling up, I do, I sold up back in January, biggest mistake I ever made...I'm not working at the moment so have to be very careful that I don't do any serious damage, so use the sim for everything now...

i dont mind the sim but you really need to get out and fly your hellis to progress as the sim will only build confedence and you model will feel completly diferent to the sim... but thanks for all the replys fellas.RAPTOR 60

The feeling is crap, I have only flowin once since november and that was last month when i crashed the mini titan.lol as for the 120sr, I dont have patience or indoor space to fly it, so it will be going up for sale. A break will be good and then go on the sim, thats what i need to do aswell.lolCiaranMal1

I feel for you but the fact is that flying helis can be a very expensive hobby. Domestic bills and family have to come first and if circumstances are such that there is no spare cash left then you are right to quit.Originally posted by CiaranMal1 View PostThe feeling is crap, I have only flowin once since november and that was last month when i crashed the mini titan.lol as for the 120sr, I dont have patience or indoor space to fly it, so it will be going up for sale. Don't try and do it on a shoestring, do it properly or not at all. Your fortunes will improve in the future and you can always come back.
Good luck with whatever you do,__________________________________________

I don't agree with the first statement above, you don't have to spend a fortune to have fun, put of the fun for me is getting the cheaper stuff to work, it can be a nightmare, but when I get it right its a great feeling.Originally posted by davew View PostDon't try and do it on a shoestring, do it properly or not at all. The second statement I do agree with!

I've been sort of the same recently. I haven't lost interest, I just haven't missed it as much. Sometimes it's good to have a break. Going flying tomorrow for the first time in a good 6 weeks so should be good, especially if the weather's good.Harry

I've been into flying for over 7 months now and still have not truely got off the ground, like you the only reason is funds, but i feel every other day i might as well pack it in, but then i look at the investment i have put into my heli's and once i get everything sorted, ill be flying, (within the next 2 weeks hopefully) just need to pay my subs at my local club (been saving for months to pay them)
So although you feel you've had enough you never know whats round the corner, and things could pick up for you, then you may reget packing it in

I have nearly given up a few times , not for financial reasons but for the fact it was having an effect on my marriage ... I had 8 helis in 6 months of starting and it got a bit too much .. I have now just got the avant and the knight and its the best I have been for ages ... I stopped flying in about October last year and started up again in March and TBH the break was the best thing ever .. I did my maintenence over the winter so they all ready to fly this season
.. I also found that having a break is the best thing you can do as if you sell the stuff you have now then you will just have to buy it all again if you re-start the hobby ... If money is that tight then yes its the right thing to do
.. But if you can afford to then keep the stuff you have now and just put them out the way until money is a little better
