Sounds to me like the battery connector may have vibrated out of the rx. When/if you get another model, make sure that you use hot glue/something similar to hd the connectors in place, the glue is easy enough to peel off when you want to unplug things and will give you peace of mind that they are less likely to vibrate out

Thanks for the input.. I did also buy a Mini Titan electric of the father in law so I'll be giving that ago in the coming weeks until I can get a Raptor back up and running. Not finished paying for the first one yet unfortunately so a replacement will have to wait.
I think the positive (and strong lesson) is that the Raptor went rouge at the airfield and not the previous day as we were doing the run up test in a built up area which could have ended very badly!..
sorry for your loss , it does amaze me that with all the technology these days that the 2.4ghz rx's dont shut down when no signal is received ? instead it seems to power the throttle servo etc?? after all its very easy to turn of the tx before the helli if your a newbee like me lol ! i was lucky when i done this as it didn't take off( trex 450!),but just sat there spinning on the floor untill i quickly realised what id done !! very dangerous .

Huh? You need to look up failsafe settings and how to set them. Sadly none of that can work if there's a total power loss on-board. The only answers then (for nitros) is some form of return spring on the throttle that the throttle servo powers against normally.
