  • Flyable out the box?

Was getting bits for my nitro cars in my model shop and explained I had got myself a B400 and was going about getting it in the air. He said it may be better for me to bring it to him to check over before flying as "They are not always ready to fly out of the box as they state!"
Would this be a fair assumption or would he be trying to get hold of a bit more of my moola?

Also plenty of YouTube vids on the blade 400, always worth trying yourself before resorting to a model shop, its all part of the learning, see if there are any forum members around where you live, as some may be able to offer assistance

We are just talking about setting the trims and stuff aren't we? Not setting angles and stuff. I know how to check the tracking but will have to check how to adjust if necessary.

basic setup is swashplate level, washout arms level at mid throttle. to ajust tracking blade grips should be level (ajuste by the long rods to taste ) it took me a while to get things perfect, my 250 flys realy well. finless bob vids on helifreak are a good place to start.....mick

Boggy is the man for setting up a B400 dude, check out http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/e-flit...ade-400-a.html & http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/e-flit...ade-400-a.html for the settings that will help you fly it. Its always best to do your own setup & repairs so that you know how to sort it when you have a coming together with mother earth (trust me it will happen ). It will also save you some wedge for spares rather than paying someone else to do it & it will give you satisfaction in knowing that you sorted it on your own

My blade 400 was setup up perfectly out of the box if that helps. All blade 400s are test flown before they are distrubuted. Obviously you may want it tamed slightly but Boggy has posted settings that are ideal for a beginner.

Didn't buy it from him though. Plenty of time before batteries arrive so will start researching all the above advice and see if I can see a problem myself.

Trust me, this is a more-than-fair assumption! My Blade is my first cp heli and when I started it up I knew nothing about them. I attached training gear and without any further adjustment gently raised the throttle. It barely left the ground, tipped rapidly to the right and I only just managed to save it by closing the throttle. My first flight lasted just about 7 seconds. I took it inside and carefully examined the heli with the help of some online guidance and found that the swash plate was so far from level it would never have flown unless I took off with the pitch halfway to the left of centre. I thought at the time that it had never been test-flown and was really quite annoyed.

i certainly would not recomend flying it straight out of the box ,however that is exactly what we did when the blade first came out.

this video is of mine being flown completly stock by chrisb and ade law ...no checks nothing just fitted tx batteries charged the main battery and went for it,$h!£ or bust as they say!!

chris is the first 4.30 gentle testing ade is the last 2.00 giving it all he dare(woodie blades dont forget ) even a little nearly successful auto at the end
