  • Pitch Gauge - How the hell.... ?

    Evening peoples...

Got my swash level, head setup, arms level and blade grips as near 0deg as I can.
Now comes the Pitch Gauge on the rotors to fine tune....

How the hell am I supposed to use one of these? I've watched the Finless Bob video (and RC Heli Wiki) but can see no way on earth to eyeball the setup to check for 0degrees pitch at midstick. Do I lock the nut or leave it loose?

Can anyone give me a foolproof way of doing this? Thanks
Edit: how on earth do I keep the flybar from moving and horizontal during all of this? Was hoping to fly this evening too

Don't get too anal about it. Level the flybar by eye and line up the top of the pitch gauge with it. Align sell a blade caddy with a cut out for the paddle at the correct height to hold it level, very handy.

Most gauges aren't accurate enough for you to worry whether everything is bang on, level. Eyeball it and then go fly.

To use it either set it at the angle you want say 10 degrees and then adjust to match or line it up with say full stick and then read off by adjusting it as your looking at it.

I was shown a trick a while back. Set the fkybar at about level, lift the blade your checking up so the heli is leanin on the opposite kid and give t blade a shimmy in each direction, then check your pitch. Seems to work for me.
