  • Flybar info.

    Hi again.

Been gathering a load of general info on Helis & their setup & at least now I'm a lot clearer (I think) as to theory and jargon .

However, the area that I am not totally clear on is the interaction between the flybar, the main rotor blades and the reason for the washout assembly.

Have been searching the internet, but can anyone suggest a good website for a tutorial, or maybe one of you good gents can dazzle me with your knowledge!

Thanks for everyone's help so far.

The july ssue of model helicopter world has an article you might find interesting reagarding the flybar.
      Velocity 50
      Synergy N5
      Fury 55 FBL
      Trex 700

Light travels faster than sound, this is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak....

I've read those articles three times, and I still don't really understand

This series of articles may get a bit technical, afterall colin mill is a professor or something - he is the man behind CSM gyros, governors and the fiendishly clever "cycle-lock" eccpm corrector.

I think the easy answer is that the flybar mechanism is a dampner that slows down the response of the main rotor blades to cyclic input - without this, the heli responds too fast and too sensitively to cyclic?
