The TRex 450 Sport is the latest version of the SE type design whereas the Pro has a completely new frame and tail.
You could look at the Sport as an SEv3.
I suspect that Align didn't use the title "v3" because clone manufacturers were already calling some of their v2 clones v3.

Belt / torq tail and the position of the cyclic servos. Go for a SEV2 its a bit more forgiving if you tap the tail on the sport its quite easy to shred tail gears...

So were there major upgrades from the Se v2 to the sport, or what were they? Do they make much difference.
        Reason deciding between a S/h v2 & new sport.

The head assy, tail assy and frames are upgraded on the Sport.
Many bits are interchangeable with the SEv2.

I have a Sport tail rotor assy on my v2 since my last repair.
Also Sport tail crank and MicroHeli slider.

Is this what you really meant to say or are you getting your models confused mate

The SE V2 and the SPORT are both belt driven and great helis for a beginner imo
The PRO is a torque tube driven heli. The tail can be very fragile but there are ways to mitigate this but I still think the sport would be the better option for a beginner.

Either the sport or the SE V2 would be a good option. If the price difference between getting a sport and a SE V2 was large I would go for the V2. However if there is not much difference in cost I would get the sport.

I would not buy a new SE V2 unless the price was very good - again look at the sport.

The difference between the sport and V2 is not that great tbh. The sport design is certainly more refined than the V2 and has a better tail box but the fundamental design is the same. I think there is probably more difference between the SE V1 and SE V2 than there is between the SE V2 and sport despite the fact the SE V1 and SE V2 look very similar. As an example the SE V1 does not use thrust bearings in the blade grips whereas the SE V2 and Sport do.
