I was hovering my T Rex 600, and it went through a tankful mega quickly!! It seems I have a fuel leak. I reckon it is coming from the base plate, as one of the 4 screw holes is stripped - so when screwing it up, it only bites and no more. Is this a likely place for a fuel leak? The other 3 screws are solid!
So, any idea how to fix this? My first thoughts are epoxy down the hole, bolt it up and let the epoxy set - would this hold the screw in and seal the leak? Or is it a drill and tap job? Or even a new engine? Any advice welcome!! It is an Align 50 size engine, with the blue head. At one point the fuel was dripping a fair bit, a constant drip - it seemed an awful lot when the engine was off, cool and hadn't been used. Is there anywhere else these engines have a reputation for leaking / or I should be checking? I am thinking about putting in a new engine, and stripping and refurbing this one as a learning exercise and therefore having a spare. Keeps my downtime to a minimum. Many thanks in advance for any advice or ideas!
