The 700e is expensive and scary!!!
Wouldnt recomend buying one of these as a first heli, but if you have oodles of cash why not!!

Trex 500, or if you wasnt quality try the logo 400, same size but easier to build and far superior to fly with!

If your unsure, join a club, visit some events, maybe buy a buddybox session and fly a heli, then make your decision.

A larger machine like the 700 is not so much forgiving but more stable when compared to a 450 size model, its sheer mass helps make it more tolerant to wind gusts and hence more useable in not ideal conditions. However the larger machine can be quite intimidating due to its presence in the air, it can also be very powerful.
With this said the main thing to have when learning is a well setup model, one that is not too lively and twitchy, something which can be helped with a good transmitter.

From experience and if your keen to give RC helicopters a real go buy the best transmitter you can afford, this way as you progress onto other larger and maybe more complex machines your initial radio purchase will still serve you well.

Helicopter wise the Align 450 PRO is nice allrounder, being able to be flown inside a decent hall or outside. Going up a step to the Trex 500 will be better if you intend to fly more outside than in and will stay with you longer due to its larger size and usability as a new maneuver machine. It is cheap to run with 6s 2500mah battery being keenly priced and readily available.
The Trex 550E makes an awesome machine also, but uses larger capacity battery which drives up the cost not only for battery but a charger capable enough to charge them in a reasonable time frame.

The only negative of electric over IC is their flight times and ease at which an IC machine can be refuelled and flown again, something which is possible with electric if you buy two or more battery.
For beginners IC is good as the more flying time you have the quicker your learning curve, but many learn just as well with electric models with a couple of battery or more.

In any case seek proficient help in setting up your model once built and you will progress much better than going it alone.
