  • Basic FBL set-up question

I'm just coming to the end of my first ever build, a Trex 550e with vbar mini blueline express electronics. Regarding set-up, should I be following the basic CCPM set-up processes that are well documented on this and other forums to get servos moving in the right direction, etc, or do I just go straight into the vbar process to do all this (my linkages are all level at zero pitch, but I've not done any other set-up).

    Thanks for the advice.

No. You need to find Mr Mels V-Bar 101 videos. Then read the notes on the vstabi forum. Once you have done that and then you have questions come back and ask.

All of the CCPM is done in the v-bar unit.

Here is the first link http://heli.dacsa.net/MrMelSite/VBar101.htm

Here is the second link http://www.vstabi.info/en

Thanks, Andy. I've had a quick skim through Mr Mel's video titles and most seem to relate to the regular size vbars, so I wasn't sure how much of that information translated to the mini blueline. I'll look again now that I know I can ignore all the "standard" ccpm set-up advice. Thanks again.

There is a couple of things you can do in this hobby:
        1. You can get someone to do all the work for you, which is how your original question reads.
        2. You read what you need and make a good attempt at doing it yourself and then ask a specific question on a point you can't get past.

If you go to Mr Mels V-bAr 101 and then look under version 5.0 episode 4 setting up a new model.

Thanks again, Andy. With your edits, I now see the full list of videos that I wasn't aware of before.

Just to be clear, I have absolutely no issues with doing my research, searching threads, etc in advance of posting a question. I have no expectation that others will do my work for me. I am, however, a complete beginner, which is why I posted in the beginner's forum, not the set-up one. When you are a complete novice, you can research something to the n'th degree and still miss a very basic point. Your reply has now saved my considerable time watching the finless and other ccpm set-up videos, and for that I am grateful. You've also given me a link neatly listing out all the vbar videos, again which I hadn't seen before.

If I've missed a forum point of etiquette with my initial post, please PM me so I don't make the same mistake again.
