Try reversing the gyro, it will have a normal/reverse button on itI would of thought.

The spinning comes because there is an imbalance between the drag from the main rotor and the countering thrust the tail rotor produces.

If I remember correctly, the CP2 has a "proportion" pot (the one NOT marked "Gain") that controls how much of the throttle power setting is passed to the tail (as increasing throttle power setting will increase the drag on the main rotors, and so need more thrust from the tail). Try increasing this.

Good luck, you'll need it! :-)

How fast is it turning? If it's rapid then the gyro may need reversing, if it's slow it's probably a duff tail motor, they sometimes last only a couple of flights, I even had brand new ones that were duff. A good one will last maybe 20 flights as long as it doesn't take a knock!

You haven't tried reversing the gyro, because (IIRC) that's not possible with the CP2 (the gyro, speed controller and receiver are all one unit). What you've tried doing (I suspect) is reversing the rudder stick direction.

It is possible (especially if you've changed the motor) that the tail rotor is now turning the wrong way. It should be blowing air to the right (trying to push the tail to the left); the tail blades should come "up" towards the front of the helicopter.

                  Hi,

                  Best diagram I could find:

If I remember correctly, the CP2 tail rotor is a single moulded piece that can only go on one way. If everything it working correctly, it should blow air to the right.
