    hi, i noticed tonite my storm 3d has about 5mm of end float (up and down) in the small drive gear for the tail rotor its the whole shaft assy thats moving not the gear on the shaft.. can anyone tell what sort of movement it should have please? thanks glenn

    There should be no end float that i can remeber sounds like tail case bearings worn !

      just had a look at it without stripping it yet, with the new gear it looks like 2 brass spacers come with it.. on mine it doesnt have one fitted to the top so i guess the previous owner had it out at sometime and never put them both back ..and the amount of end float looks approximately like the height of the brass spacer ..

        I had a problem on my Twister Storm and didn't investigate it properly. Turned out the bearing wasn't being held in the plastic cover and I had an exciting few flights. I'd just said to someone I was feeling quite confident and he said "Oh dear". Strange that confidence often seems a bad sign.
