  • Any advice please

Hi,Just brought my first Heli Honeybee v2 2.4g,and i really dont have a clue.
What is the RESERVER on the bottom of the Radio gear for?what settings should it be set too? What is the trainer switch for?it says very little about it in the manual?
But the real bummer is...when i put on the FMS simulator in my Windows 7 PC its not compatable,on looking online i find out its only compatable with Win/2000 and xp,seems a bit strange as these are both ancient! But this wasnt mentioned when i ordered it,mmm.Any thoughts/ideas guys?
    Much appreciated
    Steve.

I'm guessing you mean REVERSER rather than RESERVER its for reversing the channels. Not seen or flown a honeybee but i'd guess its a 6 channel heli. The training switch is probably so you can plug another transmitter into yours so an instructor can take control of the heli if you get into trouble.

If your serious about learning to fly heli's get a good sim like Pheonix or realflight which run on most operating systems

        Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum and this addictive hobby!

Did you buy from Buzzflyer by any chance? Is it the latest honeybee 2 which I think is a 4 channel fixed pitch model?

As mentioned the "reverser" refers to reversing the specific channels that drive the servos, in other words changing the direction of servo travel. Out of the box this should not need changing as it ought to be ready set up for the servos.

Did you get some training gear for it (just some struts that attach to the undercarriage and helps when first learning to hover) - worth it to start off with but discard as soon as possible.

The FMS simulator is very basic and as far as I know has no windows 7 drivers available, it took the developers an age just to support vista.

If you did get it from Buzzflyer then I'd suggest you give them a call and ask if you could upgrade to the Phoenix which is in a different league. Just double check that the esky transmitter will work with it (might need a specific cable interface).

        Cheers,
        Simon

It's where most of us E-sky blokes started off. Check out the Stickies on your TX and heli. I'm sure FMS will run on Windows 7. see this thread.

FMS is dire. If you don't want to stretch to Phoenix yet, I suggest trying this simulator instead; it should work fine with your FMS lead.

              Cheers fellas,
a special thankyou to Simon.Yes, i brought the Honey bee v2fp 4 Channel from Buzzflyer which is also the 2.4g type,i also have the training kit which i will put on asap.Unfortunately though my i am stll confused over the REVERSER settings. In the manual it gives mode 1and 2 settings which mine was NOT set either one,i then rang the guy at Buzzfler and he gave me this setting to use UP/DOWN/DOWN/UP.But this setting is totally different from the mode 1 and 2 settings in the book? Now i'm VERY confused, any help please...... Many Thanks
              Steve.

Mode 1 and 2 relates to which way around your throttle is. Mode 1 = throttle on the right stick, Mode 2 = throttle on the left stick.

More than likely yours will be mode 2 as I believe (probably wrong) that mode 1 is only popular in the states.

UP/DOWN/DOWN/UP is the correct settings, this will be for both modes anyways.
