  • DX8 Beginner Settings for T-Rex 450 Sport

I have got a Trex 450 Sport on order, along with a new DX8. I was hoping somebody could please point me in the direction of some setup advice suitable for a beginner? I would like to make the heli nice and stable but lots of searching has not revealed anything?

Alternatively, would setups for the DX7 / DX6 transfer fairly well? If so, could somebody please post a link for anything relevant?

    Many thanks.

You need to go through the set-up steps one by one to ensure a full mechanical set-up first and ideally get somebody to test fly for you. Nothing worst than crashing on your first flight (don't ask me how I know).

You can set the Expo to around 20 and the Dual Rate to around 60 on elevator and aileron to initially calm things down a bit.

I used the finless bob 101 setup videos - they are excellent and show you everything from the ground up without assuming any prior knowledge. I found them invaluable and they are also based on the Trex 450 (albeit the se rather than sport).

In terms of radio setup so long as you know how to navigate the setup menus and you understand the concepts provided by the videos (pitch curves, throttle curves, sub trim, travel adjust (ATV) etc) it doesn't matter what radio you use.

Search for finless 101 on helifreak (sorry, would add a link but posting from my mobile)

      Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks a lot. Found those (and registered on Helifreak!) and will have a good watch.....
