Just a quick gyro question

I know this is most likely been asked before, but can you change your gyro mode from HH to rate mode while in flight by using your transmitter. As i notice on the sim it far easier doing simple circuits like figure of 8's, while the gyro is in rate mode. Then have it in HH for hovering etc.

Yes you can, but when it comes to flying real RC helicopters, it is unlikely that you will ever want to. Rate mode can be used to establish a really accurate centre tail during the model setup flights, but other than that is pretty much redundant these days.

It just seems that much easier doin fast forward flight using rate mode. So would you suggest i dont get used too it and stick too just HH. I never knew it was possible as i thought you had too have specific type of gyro for each mode

Much better to learn to fly the tail tbh. I would stick to HH if I was you
