  • a BIG thankyou to Gareth-71

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Gareth after taking up his kind offer of joining him on a flying day on Bank Holiday Monday.
Not only did Gareth, his family and friend Keith make me feel welcome, Gareth even allowed me to buddy on 2 of his heli's on my first meeting, a Trex 250 and 450.

It is people like this that make forums work, he is a fantastic flyer, and someone that is willing to give up free time, to encourage a novice into this hobby.
I can not thank him enough for getting a taste of how 'totally' different it is to flying sims, and for allowing me to tag along for the day.

Thank you Gareth and look forward to doing it again, next time i'll bring hand warmers for us all!

If I don't reply, it's probably because I am lost in a Field somewhere!

Well, it was a wake up call to how things can go wrong at the blink of an eye, and how much different the real thing is comapred to the sim, but i am religiously on the sim for at least 15-30mins every night now, and will probalby pop down with the new heli once i have it and get you to take a look over it..................Master Garethonekenobe! lol

          Hi

lol, no, not master, I still class myself as a learner, go along and join a club or two and see some real flying.... Ashford, Maidstone and Purfleet have clubs (and perhaps more within easy drive). Pop down to Ashford on a Sunday morning, they are a great friendly bunch and you will probably see the master Jamie in action.

          BTW, there is no cure!

Ben, thats a wonderful offer, and i really am determind to crack this thing once and for all this time! Gareth is very modest in his abillities given his time at this crazy hobby, but he is a great flyer, and very patient, and if i can learn a fraction of what he has in 18 months i'd be very happy.
