  • Flight Times

    Hi

I am trying to work out if to go with a trex600 elc or nitro for my next helli.
But im a bit confused on flight times can someone give me some ideas how long the 600 flys for on a fully charged batt.
And how long say a 30 sized nitro something like a raptor would fly for on a tank full.

    cheers nick

7-8 mins T-rex 600 roughly just doing steady stuff depending on battery capacity

nitro 50 12-15 mins depending what your doing

30 upto 20 mins on a tank depending what your doing....

This is what I got last week on my rex600e and using a Align 4600 6s2p -
6 MINS- That was mainly high speed passes,a few loops and rolls thrown in , ,basically sport flying- according to the charger which is a TP1010,
I put in 3358mah ,end voltage being 25.20v and charge time 2hrs 24 mins - I'am only charging at 1.5C because I want my cells to last !!!..

Flying the Nexus or Concept SR-X I've never had less than 10mins-most flights being around the 12-15 minute mark... Funny though,When I fly my trex450se ,I can never seem to get more than 7 mins and that 's with TP2100 or FP Evo 2100- yet I'am only putting back around 1670 mah- at the 7 min mark the h/speed starts to drop and it's gets all squirrely ...

If you're charging at 1.5C thats above the usual standard of 1C and your battery should charge in much less than 2:24, probably nearer 40 minutes or so! I would guess you are charging at 1.5A which would take hours but I don't think you're making any significant improvement in pack life by charging at such a l0w rate, 1C (4.6A) is fine and if you must then 1/2C (2.3A), I just couldn't wait this long charging 7 or so 6S 5000 packs!

I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

The long times charging don't bother me- I should mention that I have :
                    3 TP1010/Balancer set up's and 2 Schulze/FP Balancer setups- also running :
                    4 Align 4600 6s2p
                    2 FP EVO 4900
                    2 TP 4500-
I just put them on charge, couple of hours later, done!!!!
And before anyone say's I should'nt leave them unattended- the charging is done in lipo fireproof boxs(£175 !!- EACH )..... In a concrete garage at the bottom of my garden,,,

That sounds like the amount of airtime you get on your Rex when you cane it
