  • final advise before bying heli

Hi guys over the last few weeks ive posted a few questions to you guys so I must thank all of you who have replied to them in helping me decide what heli to invest in

Ive decided to go with the mini titan e-325 as it seems the most suitable for me.
my last questions is .....what extras should I invest in to make my flying experience more enjoyable and what is the best radio equipment to start off with. Is the standard titan going to be suitable enough or should I go with some better components. this is my first heli so im obviously going to crash the thing, ive looked into some local clubs and I will be makeing some phone calls really soon.oh does anyone know of a uk based website that sells the mini titan complete with motor and radio gear so its basically ready to fly.

once again thanks for all your helpfully advice I hope to run into some of you at a flying school or somewhere in the uk doing what we all love to do

    cheers guys

Two things to ensure you have minimum problems:

1 Sort your tail - 401 gyro and a decent servo for it. Ideally a 9650, but you could also look at the 3154 which is cheaper, but still very good. This will make learning soooo much easier.

2 For me it's a no brainer, get a DX7. They aren't stupid money and you can sell the DS821 servos that come with it on ebay and reduce the cost even more. You can use your heli anywhere without the chance of being "shot down". Glitching is much less likely, if at all.

Spend a little extra on these ares and you will not regret it.

    good luck

In my opinion, the best advice I can give you is to get a flight simulator. It *will* save you more money in reduced crashes.

The other advice about radio gear is all true, especially that about the gyro and tail servo. I've given the advice many, many times: never skimp on tail.

But, if it was my money, I would prioritise a sim above all else.

        Just my opinion..
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

I would say get the Phoenix sim.

I have still not maidened my mini titan yet, but I have saved a fortune by practicing with the sim.

hi there thanks for all your advice, im very interested in one bit of advice about the flight simulator, for someone like me who knows nothing about this could you possibly advice me of where to obtain this and is it something you can download off the internet. I know what a simulator is but im new to this technologhy so anything that is going to make me a better pilot and help me not to crash my heli would be greatly appreciated.

              cheers

Kevs racing bits is knocking the titan with mototr & esc out at £135 shipped, just finished installing
the electrics in mine at the moment so should have it flying as soon as we get a break in the wind & rain.

Oh one thing to bear in mind, you will more than likely need to file the servo mounts out to accomodate your chosen servos unless you go with thunder tigers own ACE brand, I've goit hitec hs-65's but have had to file around 3-4 mm off to get them to fit.

I'd go for a low end T-rex 450 over the titan, but thats me.

The Sim is a MUST HAVE. like everyone has already said.

Most good shops will have the sims running for you to try or be shown or blag a mates for a day or two. phoenix or real flight are the ones to go for IMHO

Thumbs up for the DX7 shout go to be the TX to go for.

and like most have said sort the tail with a GY401
