  • Mini or regular vbar on scale fuselage?

Can I use a mini vbar on a trex 600 esp century funkey scale fuselage? The mikado website says only the regular blueline should be used for scale applications. Why????

i would get the normal one every day of the week as it allows better mounting options on all helis.

i.e get the sensor away from potential vibes.

    cheers

OK, great - thanks for that. And one last question ...

I am actually just about to buy a Trex 550e ... which in due course I will "stretch" with a 600 boom and blades to fit my Funkey 60 size fuselage of choice. I also have a spektrum dx8.

Is there space enough in the 550 frames for a dx8 receiver, satellite receiver, telemetry unit and regular blueline parts???

the 550e frames are a little limitd for space, i dare say you will get it all on but why not just buy a 600e to start with? the side frames on the 550e are pretty wimpy too, mine twists with power application from the standard motor, and I'll be buying 2mm items to beef it up a little.

The mini is what I have got on my 550E as its good for all leccy size models.

Then the rest could go on the side frames and on the rx tray I would have thought

The mini-vbar is good for machines up to a 1m rotor disk, due to the powerbus required.

Great - thanks all for the advice.

I've actually literally just bought my first RC helicopter now. Cracking deal ... unless of course others tell me otherwise, but I got fed-up researching and decided to just buy.

I've got a Trex 550E with a 3G head, mini blueline, 3x savox SC-1257 servos (better for FBL than the 610s, but I was probably conned on that one) and 1x Savox SH1290MG (DS 650 equivalent) and a nice, free padded polyester carry bag with 10mm foam interior and a hard bottom (not the Align one) ... all for 915 euros, which I figure is probably around £795-£830 depending on fx rates.

Now, how to explain this to my wife ... economical with the truth I guess.

                    good luck. You'll need it
Unless you're a seasoned pro who just managed to fly on borrowed helis all the time.
Be aware that the start of a typical flying career involves broken blades and parts for, I don't know, €1000, give some or take some. There is IMO no use to mess around with a scale body, before you're confident at autorotations.

Don't worry - no scale fuselage, no stretching for the foreseeable i.e. a couple of years, I presume. Was just trying to future proof my purchase.

Will be taking lessons as well ... no wish to waste the cash already spent!
