  • confusion in kuwait helppppppppppppppp

    hi

i'm just about to buy a raptor 30 v2 with everything i need to fly for just under 600.

1st is this a reseaonable price. im british but work and live in kuwait. and the sales men are either indians or phillopinos so bit of a language problem??????? so a list of what i actually need would be helpfull just in case its a blind leading the blind situation..................

2nd i dont think there are any flying clubs here so where can i get advice on flying. i'm fairly optimistic on the building and setting up as im a helicopter engineer and hopefully fingers crossed i should be ok, but any helpfull hints would be gratefully recieved.

3rd when i finally come home for good whats the safest way to transport it home?

    thanks for any help

    Hi,

It depends on what your getting for your 600.00 if its just the heli with engine then no its not a good deal, but if its the Heli, Tx, Rx, Starter etc etc then it may work out to be a good deal. List exactly what's on offer.

To get it home you have two choices, either keep the original box it came in and carefully pack it in with loads of foam etc, or you can buy specialist heli box's i.e. chrome versions with locks on.

The heli is very simple to build and the manual is very easy to read, you will find a copy in the downloads section under manuals. Your engineering back ground should allow you to sail through it no problem. A good site for Raptor tips is here. But we'll alos help as much as we can. Having owned a R30 V1, R50 V1 and R30 V2 you will find the Raptor very easy to get used too and a very capable heli.

Get your list up of what this guy's offering and we should have clearer idea of whether its a bad, fair or good deal.
    Cheers

thanks for your quick reply. From what i was told in the shop, its a complete kit including helicopter, radio/transmitter (6 channel), gyro, servos, glow plug, glow plug starter, electric starter, battery plus charger and a can of fuel.

i'll check out web links you also posted and will keep you informed of any progress.

      thanks again

Can you confirm which transmitter and Gyro is on offer, a six channel is a bit odd.

If your postal service is reliable and your buying in GBP on the net I'd buy from Cyberheli :-

        www.cyberheli.com

for the Heli, Tx, Rx, Gyro, Engine then buy locally the starter, hex starter wand, fuel, glow plug wand, plugs etc.

Tx for me would either be a Futaba 9C or JR9X or if budgets are tight go for the Sanwa RD6000, Get the R30 V2 with the TT39 engine 49BB, Gyro a Gy401 with the S9253 combo, get some JR591's servo's for the elevator, aileron, throttle and pitch.

This way you should get an over all good deal on the expensive bits and I recently bought a R30 V2 with TT39 JR PCM Rx, GY401, Carbon Blades for under 400.00 shipped to the UK.

I usually work on a spreadsheet and compair the overall costs then go for it, then wait for the flack from the Misses as the postman arrives.

I did buy a Fury Extreme with OS91 C-Spec blades etc in the UK as the import price was more expensive.
        Cheers

have a list now of what i can get and it comes in at 610.70

          raptor 30 v2 with the engine included (pro 39h(r) ) 238

hitec 6 channel with 4 servos included 147

gyro piezo made by tiger thunder 119.50

hitec servo from 11 to 27.50

starter, battery, fuel pump, charger, starter tools 64

          glow plug and starter 14.70

i read a review on the hitec tx and it was not as favourable as the ones you mentioned, however that is the only one i can get over here. the postal service is not to hot. im not back in the uk for another 2 months so its either wait till i get home for tx and servos or go with what is on sale here.

thanks for your help so far
