  • Raptor 550 radio problem

    Hi guys
Need some support on this radio issue , I have a futaba set up with reciever being a dual conversion 138DF , trany is a T6EXHP computer heli system. 1 servo works push pull on the elevator , 2 servos do aileron push pull , this is on 90 deg swash plate set up . when pitch is introduced all 3 servos should push the swash plate up and down , this is fine but when I move the elevator both aileron servos move to dont think this should be but not sure. When I move the aileron the elevator servo stays still as it should I think .

    This Radio gets technical ,,

Is this a 3 point swash 120° set up?
You should have swash 3 selected if it is.

Both aileron servos should move the opposite way to the elevator servo when elevator is applied.

I am guessing here, single elevator servo at the back, aileron and pitch/aux servo at the front on each side.

You will have to use a combination of servo reversing and swash AFR reversing to get things correct.

Cheers Nutz both aileron servos are moving in the opposite direction to the elevator servo , the manual sais its 90 deg swash control . Aileron servos are pluged in to ch 1 and aux . Things are working ok then , will put it to the test when I get lipo..

If it is a 90 deg swash setup then you should have 1 servo doing elevator, 1 doing ailerons and 1 for the pitch, the radio should be set to swash 1 (I think) as there is no electronic mixing involved and all direction corrections are made with the servo reverse feature in the TX.

I am a bit confused on how you have 2 servos doing the ailerons on a 90 deg swash, I will need to see a picture of that set-up.

Sorry for this , If you go to Real Raptors web site and pull up the 550 manual on the web site , it shows you all the set up and lay out . I dont exspect this from you though , just incase your interested . Thanks for the reply.

I have looked at the manuals both for your heli and TX and the T6EXHP only supports 2 types of swash (1 normal & 3 120 deg eCCPM).
            http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/6exh-manual.pdf

The one you need is 3E or if using a 9C Swash type 4 as per page 77 of the 9C manual http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/9c-manual-v1_2.pdf

indeed it is a 90 degree eccpm system.
This means with aileron only the side servos move, with elevator only the elevator moves, with collective all three move.
this is less popular than the 120 degree setup becuase the load is not equal on all three servos - but in this case they use some of the parts from the nitro raptor like the A arms and elevator rocker.

You need to set the swash to h-2 or he3, probably he3 on your futaba (if it uses the same names as my 7cap).

You could buy the TT 140 degree swashplate, using the 120 degree swash setting in the radio and adding a programmable mix Elevator-pitch should work.

Or... think to upgrade the Tx to a 9cap and get more model memory better control and the upgrade path to 2.4G plus the correxct swash types
