    What new heli.

    It's a good hobby.
You'll need to give us some clues. What sort of things do you want to do and what have you done so far. How much money do you want to spend. A good place to start is to get a good simulator like phoenix and a reasonable transmitter like a DX6i, and a small indoor heli like an msr BNF. That's about £200 or $300. You can sell allof these easily if it doesn't work out.

      Difficult one....

a small electric e.g. a Trex 450 is cheap to run and fix, but far less stable in the air than say a 600 size electric or 50 size nitro (trex 600e/n), but both of these are a fair commitment in both effort to go and fly them (most peoples gardens arent big enough - and forget about indoors with these) and in terms of cost to buy and repair.

Seeing as its winter you may well be best looking at a small electric. I personally learnt to hover etc on a trex 500 in a hall, but as soon as you want to do anything more eleaborate than that with a 500, you need to be outside!

Have you got a sim yet?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
IF you are just starting it might be better a small coaxial heli, they are very stable and normally safe to fly inside the house, it will help getting to grips with flying in real time, before moving on to a 4 or 6 channel model.

First question has to be...what is your budget? That will immediately allow people to offer you more accurate advice.

Personall I nought a Trex 450, crashed it, bought Phoenix (simulator) and practiced loads whilst repairing the Trex, bought a Walkera 4#3b for indoor practice (crashed that loads of times but bounces really well) and can now fly the 450 with reasonable control and stability, although still very much a learner. Have just bought a Trex 600 electric.

Did anyone tell you this hobby can become addictive

Hi m8 and welcome to the forum
We defiantly need more info on your circumstances.

Whats your budget ? and where do you want to fly ? indoors at home, outside in the garden ? Have you access to a flying club, or will it be just in your local park ?

All these things make a big difference as to what type of heli would suit you best

Just search the previous posts before posting the question, as there are hundreds of threads about this, as this type of question comes up every week, boring now.

But everybody's circumstances will not be the samr, you could trawl threw past threads for hours and hours, or... ask it to the guys here and get a fast answer, I know which I prefer to do. Things change, heli's change and the people asking the question changed

                            hey rcwarrier
welcome to the site, and dont worry about all the moany people on here, its true the same question is seen on here 100's of times, but we all have to learn somehow and asking questions is the way to do it. i know as i'm a newbie on here to
Ask yourself 3 questions - how much do you have to spend - where do you want to fly - how much spare money for repairs

then you can ask any questions you like on here once you have answered the 3 questions
