  • 450 Sport (2010) OR 500 (2010)

    Hi all,

Just trying to see what people would recommend out of the following:

I'm interested in either the 450 sport (2010) or the 500 (2010), but can't chose which one to go for, any input would be great....

    Thanks...

If COST, both to purchase and repair, is not a factor, then 500.

If you can fly a CCPM heli, then the 500, no doubt.

can you get a simmilar colour main rotor assembly and tail rotor assembly as the 450 sport (blue or red)? I do like the colours of some of the parts on the 450 sport...

I'm gonna buck the trend. Far prefer to fly my 450 over my 500.

The standard colour of the rotorhead/tail assy is black on the 500. You maybe able to get other colours as aftermarket parts through other manufaturer, but for me I'm not really bothered by colours and happy with the black.

How about the 600?? or is that too big? and would a DX6i be ok with it, as that is what I have at the moment...

You may want to see what is appropriate for where you fly and if money is an issue in repairs..

The larger the heli, the more stable it's going to be, has a nice presence in the air, but then with a larger heli, you may need more airspace to fly it.If you are in a club, this may not be so much of an issue, but if you want to take it to the local park, or have your own smaller flying space, you may find that a 500/450 would be more appropriate.

So suggest, you look at your own circumstances and decide what size heli you may choose.

Myself, I have 450/500/and 600 size electrics.. My 450 helis get flown the most...though, it is the bigger helicopters that really do it for me...

Hi Chewie, I work at an old airfield which would be my main flying site, I'd like something that can handle a bit of wind but wont be to bad on the pocket when I crash and from what I've been reading on this forum I'm thinking the 500 (for my situation) could have the edge over the 450.

Yeah I've heard the same, although flying area wouldn't be a problem as I can fly on Lord Daresbury's land... I just like the look of the 450 and 600, rather than the 500...

How difficult would it be to build either a 450 or 600 from scratch and what would I need, not parts more tools.....
