Hi everyone, i've owned a mini titan e325 for the past year and now that i've gained some experience i've bought myself a t-rex 600e.
Im quite confused what typre of battery and charger i need for it so i hope someone on here can give me some advice.
What i need is a charger that will charge up the small external bec lipo aswell as the main battery.
I dont really want to pay out £145 just for 1 battery so i was hoping to buy one of these ones zippy- flightmax 5000mah 6 cell 30c lipo 22.5v trex 600 on eBay (end time 25-Oct-10 20:20:59 BST) I've looked on youtube and there a few people on there using these batteries on their 600's. Anyone have experience with these batteries?
Im also not sure what charger i should buy. Im only going to be flying it once every weekend and i plan on buying a fuesalage for it. So i dont need one that i can use out of the house. As long as it'll charge up the battery above aswell as the one already on the helicopter i'll be happy. Im not going to be doing any kind of stunts with it so only need a battery that'll enable me to hover about flying a scale t-rex 600 for at least 5 mins.
Im not sure wether to buy a Bantham E-station bc6 dual power charger that i can get seconhand for £60, or the Fusion 'Elysium' LX60B Pro Balance Charger from here Midland Helicopters Ltd Chargers_LogicRC
for £70
Would any of those 2 chargers work with the zippy flightmax 5000? Or what would you recommend?
Finally, i've been having a read and cant fully understand the "discharge" part of using a lipo battery. When someone says you shouldn't discharge below a certain limit, what does this mean exactly? Does this basically mean for instance that the battery shouldnt be run down to a a point where there isnt enough power to move the blades? If not, when flying, how do i know when i should stop and fully recharge the battery again?
When flying my mini titan i just fly it until it hasnt got the power to lift itself off the ground anymore. Or is that likely to affect the life of the battery?
I know its a long post with many questions but pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee help lol.
Many thanks in advance
