Hi all, I'm a total newbie to this heli world, 2 weeks ago I bought an MSR then this week I picked up myself a good used trex 450V2 with the V3 upgrades (modified torque tube plus head I think?), anyway a lovely quality bit of kit.
I've been practising on Phoenix sim for a couple of days, my performance is rubbish & I'm all over the place so getting quite frustrated with it all.
SO this afternoon I got so annoyed with the sim I fitted the training undercarriage to the trex, took her outside for my virgin hover, perfectly accepting it will probably end in tears.
The thing is so intimidating when the blades started to spin up but WOW i'm amazed, bobbed about a bit just making sure the sticks move the heli the correct direction. It is so stable I was able to hold a reasonably good hover about 1/2m of the ground & keep her in a 2 metre diameter area, had to call it a day after 5 mins due to a few gusts of wind that shook my nerves on occasion.
I'm so so pleased, I just need to find somewhere indoors or more secluded than where I live.
What i don't understand is my crap performance flying the 450SE on the sim?
The settings I used for my DX6i were from this post: http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/e-flit...ade-400-a.html
I'm sure it's down the the tame nature of the settings that the thing didn't plumet into the deck.

so kudos to you for having gone all the way

definately need to find a indoor place to fly, I live in a valley and the wind has a tendency to really pick up quickly.
