Engine size, Blade size and boom length.

There are also some other bits, like different gears etc to cope with the different engines.

Are you planning to upgrade a 30 to a 50 or not sure which to buy?

Bigger engine, bigger blades, slightly different gear ratio between engine and main rotor, longer tail boom. My advice to beginners is always to go for the 50 because for the minimal outlay difference, you'll not outgrow the 50 anything like as quick as the 30. Indeed if you learn to do basic flying with a 30, you'll be gagging to upgrade to a 50.

Price, running/crash costs and performance. More is better.
