  • Another begginer!

    Hi everyone,

For some time I have been thinking about getting into this as I have no hobby. I will soon be moving to Plymouth and have decided it's time... but I dont know the first thing!!

Can anyone suggest a starter kit that would be good for me to practise on?

    Thanks

    Adam

      Hi,

This is what I would recommend to get started with :-

      Heli
      Raptor 30 V2 with TT39 Engine

      Transmitter
Futaba Field Force 8 Super - You'll only get this second hand, if you want new then it will have to be the either the Futaba 9C, JR9X or the Sanwa 6000.

      Gyro
      Futaba Gy401 with S9253 Servo

      Receiver
      Futaba 138DF PPM

      Servos
      4 x JR591's

You will also need a flight box which contains:-
      Glow Stick
      Fuel Pump
      Starter
      Hex Starter Wand
      Tools

A must is insurance from the British Model Flying Assocation you can find thier site at www.bmfa.org, this will point you too your nearest club too.

If you going to buy all new then most stores will give you a discount if you place one big order, however, if you decided to but second hand I'd start with the BMFA classifieds, Ebay our Classifieds on this site here :-

Alternatively and it depends on your views on this you can mailorder from around the world.

After all that if you have some spare cash, get a sim the main good sims are :-

CSM V10 not great graphics but its good on the physics, cheap too
      Realflight G2
      Reflex

Good luck on your quest if you have any further questions just shout.
      Cheers
      Stuart
