  • Motor problems?

    Hi everyone,

Well I gave in and bought a Blade CP Pro 2 about a month ago (dont hate me please lol) and have been having a lot of fun learning to hover with it. Ok I've had a few minor crashes/collisions and am on my 3rd set of blades and 2nd tail boom but I've got to the point where I'm able to hold a fairly stable hover for a minute or two

Recently though I've been having the odd problem with the main motor not starting up occasionally then just kind of jumping into life and working fine from then on, it's only done it a couple of times and only when turning on for the first time.

I took it out today and hovered through a battery pack, only landing once, then after letting it cool down for 5 mins and putting a new pack on, the motor wouldnt spin again. I gave the rotor a gentle twist and it started up but even approaching full throttle, there is nowhere near enough headspeed to take off and it just gets gradually slower until it stops again, then it won't start at all again until a few minutes later when it repeats this process.

I'm going on holiday on Monday and was hoping to put in a lot of quality flying time in the field next door to where I'm staying but that plan looks to have gone out of the window now

Am I right in thinking that the motor has all but died on me already (probably only 20-30 mins tops overall flight time) or is there something I may be overlooking?

EDIT- forgot to mention, everything else seems to be OK, 2-in-1 arms to a green light, tail gyro light is on, all servo's are responding fine, just no motor spin
