120 SR - A half decent hover?

Day 3 in the little Helicopter house and I am still rubbish at this flying business! I am getting better at taking off at not scooting left and have also managed to land on the slab a couple of times but it aint graceful.

I have uplaoded a video of my best hover yet. It is heavily edited and only part of it is ok. I find that sometimes I can hover for ages pretty well then the next moment I am all over the garden out of control. More practice.

EDIT: Just had another go and this was the best yet. Some of my hovers were almost stable and it was looking really good. Managed to land back on the slab nearly every time and didn't end up all over the garden.

I must apologise for the quality. I thought that asking my wife would result in a better video than my 7 year old son. I have obviously learnt that this isn't quite true and the wife has been sacked.

Looking good mate. Just keep on at it - day and night!

Remember, first - Tail in - Work on it till you perfect it. (Clear your mind of everything else!)

You will know you are ready for the next move when you can take off and hold it there - in that spot steady - tail in.

...and then don't forget the "fun" part of this whole thing matey.

I have done better than this but it wasn't on video so doesn't count .

I have also done a lot worse but thanks to the miracles of video editing I was able to cut out the bit where it nearly flew into my face or ended upside down in the rose bush.

There was even one hover/landing where I came in slightly off to the left but hovered in and landed square on the skids on my heli(slab)pad. It looked sooo cool. Obviously I can't repeat this "one off" and I am still mentally drained after 2-3 batteries.
