The tail kicking looks like the ESC protection cutting in. To prevent (or warn of) an impending serious loss of power dues to a drained or otherwise defective battery, the ESC causes the power to the motor to "pulse", thus causing the tail to kick.
It's a "better land it now" signal really.
Two possible causes:
- A defective ESC or more likely,
- A drained or defective battery
EDIT: one other thought just occurred to me. Check the tail drive belt tension. A loose and slipping belt would cause the tail to kick but would not account for the loss of power.Last edited by Mart61; 03-09-2010, 12:19 PM.

What ESC are you using? If it's this one, take a peek at the settings contained in the manual and set the ESC up appropriately.Originally posted by flip4444 View PostThanks Martin. I am at a total standstill. Does it with both batteries I have for it. Brand new ESC. Could it be an error in setting up the ESC do you think? Regards Phil.
Are the batteries new too?
