Hi,I was in having a look around my local hobby shop the other day.and it seems the only servos he stocks are hitec.I want to support the LHS so thought I'd get some advice her first. The guy in the shop handed me a hitec catalouge and told me to find out what servos I needed.

    My questions are:

Are hitecs any good?going to be upgrading the cyclic servos

What servos would I need for a flasher 450?

Would I just be better of forgeting about the local hobby shop and getting servos online? If so what would be the best mid budget servos?

    Cheers
In case I forget to thank anyone Thanks In advance
    Jim

The Hitec HS65MGs are problably the most used servos in all 450s.

The Hitecs 5065s being the best imo.

Hi Jim, the Hitecs are actually quite a good choice for the 450 size class. I suggest that if you are learning to fly that you get the HS-65MG's last a very long time and take you from hovering to 3D!

Hitecs 5065s are meant to be better but I haven't noticed much difference in flight myself coming from HS-65's.

(Getting used to me new keyboard lol)

Phoenixtech DS502C is a good tail servo for 450/500 size heli. Russ have one testing on the TT360 and is already pass 200flight so far.
            cheers

Yes there is a very good Hitec tail servo that I used at one point, but forgotten the name..

Ill get back to you about the model number.

Wouldnt trust any of these clone servos either.

              EDIT: Its the 5084MG

Anybody with common sense can see that you are trying to rip off the Align DS520 by changing the letters round to DS502, clever stuff hey

Just like the Align DS410M, the Phoenixtech DS401M Lol.

If these were servos that you have had desiged for you, at least have some imagination and call them something different. If they are just clones (or cheap HK servos 're-branded') carry on selling them for what they are.

I won't comment on something i haven't seen or tried, but it doesn't mean other people can't, so be it.

I won't reply on this post anymore, because all Tim ask is some info about tail servo choice. so don't want to lead this to an endless post again.

here are 3 videos, one TT360(450size heli), one Flasher500, one Fire520 (500size heli) all using DS502C tail servo. enjoy and fly safe
                        cheers

Funny you should mention that Sacko. I was going to say the FUTABA 9257 is a good tail servo for the 450. Got one on my Align Trex 450 paired up with a Spartan gyro.
