  • Flasher450 gyro upgrade

Would the gp750/ds520 gyro combo for £121 be a wise purchase if not what would you guys suggest for around the same price?

Also would the ds520 servo be the correct size servo?
In case I forget to thank anyone Thanks In advance

The 520 is a pretty good servo for the tail on a 450, though I think you will get a few mixed comments on the gp750.

Personally, I found it a pretty good gyro which did its job.. though the piro consistency was not that fantastic.

Lot of others to choose from which have a better reputation... like the spartan, futaba 520, csm... and also the mini g with a g-view.. which I have one for sale if interested

Hi, I have had a gp750 with the ds520 on my flasher 450 and i love it. Now im not a 3d flyer, just gentle circuits with the odd flip and roll but it holds rock solid and feels nice and fast, i like it more than the 401/9257 that i have on my trex.

If i was to buy another gyro id probably go for the spartan 760 from Midland heli's for £90 and the ds520 for about £26

        Good luck

What gyro/servo combination are you using at the moment? Most modern HH gyros do a decent job of holding a hover, general flight and sport flying.

Its just that if you do get a new gyro/servo, you may not really feel any benefits for a while.

Most ppl use the 520 sized servos on the 450 helis.. but check that if it is boom mounted that the bracket can accommodate this size servo, as it may just be the size for a 420 size servo.

I have a Spartan and a 401, Spartan is a breeze to set up, the 401 can be a bit of a pain to set up but once u have it spot on it's fine.

Spartan is rock solid and just so nice, picked up my 401 from the Bmfa for £40 2 hand.

So 1st choice would be the Spartan, if you get the USB lead it's even easier to set up and configure even more.

Nothing I have tried has out-performed a Spartan, yet to try a CSM 720 though.

                I have a GT90 / Inertia 860 / SJGD 860 gyro with its programmer going spare. I had it on a T-Rex 700 and it performed perfectly.
