gyro positioning

Hi guys,

I have just received in the post a CSM 180 gyro, bought on the advice that it would be much better than the telebee my Mini Titan came with.

It is quite a bit bigger than the telebee gyro, and has tape on the base. If I tape it base down to the heli though, it looks like the swash plate could catch it. Could it be laid down on its side?

No, proper orientation of a gyro is paramount to its working correctly.

well... they were right that it would be better than the telebee. however i would say that its not a worthwhile upgrade. If you havnt mounted it it might be worth trying to take it back for an upgrade to a futaba 401. its a fair bit more money but many times better value for money.

OH NO!!

I thought you would all say that. Bugger. Perhaps I could mount in the base, and move the receiver upto behind the servo. Would that work?

I will get a 401, when I can afford it... sigh...

take it back get yer dough and borrow the rest off the missus for the 401...
Have flown one with a 401 fitted and there were no positioning probs..
