  • MSR TBS (toilet bowl syndrome)

    Hi,

Does anyone have a similar problem with there MSR ?

When in a hover my sons MSR spins round in ever increasing circles (like going down a plug hole in reverse)

    Mine is fine.

Tried lube on the head, tried new blades, tried new flybar, tried new body, replaced tail blades !!

Running out of things to try now.

He was using the controller that came with the heli, has changed to a DX6i which has helped, only for the fact he has more control now,

    Any ideas ?

    Cheers

    Pete

Lots of possibilities, if you Google for "MSR TBE" you'll get a lot of advice.

Just for clarity though, is the tail holding but the heli moving in circles with no stick inputs?

Just wanted to make sure that TBE is the only problem

If so I'd start by checking the flybar is completely free moving, not even a little resistance to movement.

I've found that twisting the blades to increase the headspeed and reduce early lift helps a bit when mine does that

I never keep mine in a hover long enough to notice if its got any tbe or not. Its much more fun whizzing it about
But apparently this particular upgrade is supposed to help with the problem.

Cant say myself as I've never tried it.

Looks like whizzing about is the order of the day then

Seriously though tbe is a bit of an odd one and its not always that easy to isolate the cause of.
              A few suggestions:

As well as moving freely, make sure the fly bar isn't damaged or distorted.

Check the main shaft isn't slightly bent.

Are the main rotor blades nicked or split at all, putting them out of balance.

Try tightening or even loosening the blade grips slightly.

Replace every single part one at a time until it stops (Only kidding )
