I have a DX6i that I use on my sons 450, I have no complaints and unless you really need to why upgrade, it does everything it says on the tin the only downer is that they use dry cells for power and it's frowned upon by the BMFA. Easy to change though and fit a rechargeable NiMh pack. The gimbles can be a little stiff also, but thats about it.

DX6 V DX7 What the difference?

I had started with a blade 400 and the supplied dx6i. It was such a massive upgrade from the honeybee king 2's remote. I used it for a year and i never needed to upgrade. The dx7 is nice but if you are learning the dx6i is fine and you want to rather spend money on upgrading your heli as that would make a much bigger difference in the flying experience. Just my 2p worth.

I'v have both.
As I fly a governorless nitro, one of the most useful features of the DX7 over the DX6 are the hover trims. It makes it much easier to tweak the hover headspeed rather than having to mess around with the pitch/throttle curves as you would have to do in the DX6.
The DX7 feels more like a proper radio. The DX6 heads more towards toys-r-us ( as does the DX8 by many opinions ).Blade 130x

I've had the 7 but forget the 7, go for the 8. Never had eyes for the 6.
Just afew pros that I like about 8 that the 7 dont have. I like the tone/vibrating warning system, esp for temp, voltage and rpm.
Active gain and governor trim allows for in-flight adjustment of the gyro gain and RPM
Programmable Telemetry Warnings provides both tone and/or vibration alerts
Programmable Throttle Cut Function
Includes TM1000 Full Range Telemetry Module providing real-time Flight Log data, receiver voltage, flight pack voltage, RPM and temperature
Then again, they say that it feel/look plasticity like the DX6. Whatever yr choice, wait for the 8, check it out, then decide.
