    Hi all

Im new to all this and ive just recently bought a trex 450 sport RTF of Trexmad.co.uk. I must say its a nice heli and he has done a nice job on the build, he hovered it in the shop and it was steady as a rock. I also bought phoenix flight sim, i was getting alright at hovering on the sim so i put my training gear on and went for a test flight. I did my checks like the guy in the shop told me and i started her up. The problem is that when i just get off the ground the heli just spins round in circles, I dont no if its my fault coz im not doing somthing right? Or its the heli thats some how broke when i brought it home in my car? i would really appreciate any feedback

    Thanks
    Seb

I think it just needs trimmed? maybe

My guess, depending on exact setup, would be that you've switched the heli on with the gyro switch in the rate mode position. What gyro are you using?

have you not just rebuilt the tail on this heli? maybe have your tail set up wrong, ie slider in the wrong place on the rod?

maybe a pic of the tail since the rebuild could help??

Your tail has either got completely the wrong pitch set in the blades and your trying to fly in rate mode,
Or more likely the gyro needs reversing, this is not ion the tx but actually needs adjusting on the gyro itself.
As its RTF Sport id guess its a GP750/780 SO you will press and hold the set button till it flashes keep pressing until REV is lit note if its red or green and move the rudder stick untill it changes to the opposite it was when it started to flash. press set again untill out of set up mode.

TO check put it in HH Mode turn the nose to the left watch the tail pitch slider it should move left as well towards the boom.
(of course doing this first would help before attempting to set anything)

I see from one of your recent posts that you have just repaired your helis tail.
One of the easiest mistakes to make is getting the belt twisted the wrong way round. This will make the tail rotor to spin in the wrong direction and the heli will spin wildly.
Check that the tail rotor spins anticlockwise when looking at it from the right side and that the leading edge of the blades are facing the right way.
The tail blade that's nearest the front of the heli should be moving upwards towards the main rotor blades.

Yep - sounds like an incorrectly assembled tail to me. Follow the words of advice given above and I'm sure al will be well.

Has it flown correctly at all since repairing the tail? If it has, that excludes assembly error, if not, then it's likely tail set up rather than gyro or trim

Does it spin wildly and fast, or at a more sedate pace that is not scary?

If it spins wild and fast, then in order of likelihood its'

                Twisted belt
                Twisted belt
Reversed gyro ( though I think this is unlikely unless you have been pressing the button on it by mistake when it is powered up)

dont forget, when you plug in, dont touch it, you may have disturbed the gyro there fore its not sensing as it should

Sounds like twisted belt or reversed tail servo to me that's where I would deffo start anyway

                        Tail control

i had a situation just like this once where what ever i did to the heli it would spin violently clockwise upon lifting off,
i also checked correct belt twist gyro reverse/normal pit slider travels freely, etc.
then when i had the tail assembly off for inspection i found that the tail/belt drive pully was spinning independently on the shaft !
so a bit of epoxy on the tailshaft splines pully pushed back into place left to set over night and problem solved
may be worth you checking yours if only to eliminate this from your heli hope this may help
