  • Help me decide out of 3 models.

Hi all, i have now come to buying an electric heli to learn on, and to enjoy outside. I have narrowed it down to three models which are:

    -Esky Honey Bee
    http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/product.a...ID=70&P_ID=124
    -Esky Honey Bee CP2
    http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/product.a...ID=70&P_ID=125
-Walkera T450 RC 6ch CCPM Helicopter No. 39.
    http://www.hobbyjapan2000.com/store/...p?prod=DRAFL39

Which one would best suit a beginner?
Im quite carefull and would take my time, but on the other hand im prepared to buy lots of spares.

Thanks for any help. You can throw a spanner in the works if you wish.
    Ryan.

    Hi Ryan
Personally i'd go for the twister 3d or the ark x400/450 but whatever you buy be carefull not to be trapped into buying cheap rubbish that just dont fly well anyway. Option 3 on your list is ok i suppose!

If you are going to buy from John at Buzzflyer get
      http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/RC-Helico...s-22/p-70-371/

I have had the king and its the best one of your choice of 3 BUT if i was going down that route again a contra rotating as in my link progress from there onto a 450 or likewise and as i have done up to a 30-50 size

Other options as stated everywhere for beginners is go to a club get some training, if you like it buy a sim (saves alot of money believe me) but really at the end of the day its up to you.

      Hope it helps.

      Regards Simon

Where can i find the Twister 3D ? Would you recomend collective pitch?

Also can you let me know why this is better ? Is it just built quality that helps or is there allot more to it. I am learning all the time

I didnt really want to get the Robins 22 as it doesnt seem any good outside, also the twin blade thing would not be as ideal as there will be less for me to learn ? I understand not to jump in at the deep end but i also dont want to paddle my feet.

Oi, there is nothing wrong with KTM's, they make the best motocross bikes.

Anywho, can you recommend me a heli then please? As i obviously am clueless when it comes to these just like you are at motocross bikes

                    KTM
OK here's my recommended small beginner heli:

                    T-Rex 450V2
                    401 Gyro
                    9650 Servo on the tail
                    Hitec 65 servos
                    DX7 Transmitter

Phoenix RC Sim (learn to hover in that before trying it for real)

If you buy any of those other horrible helicopters (including the Twister 3D) your entering a world of hurt.... Been there done it, got the t-shirt.

Yes Ryan - theyre the correct parts.

Unfortunately, if you want to get into helis - even micro ones, then its not a cheap business.
The problem with the cheap ones, is that they are so cheap that they dont fly too well, and break easily as well.
The reason the twister bell is recommended is that it does fly well, and is cheap at £100ish, and its a good way into your first heli, even if its not exactly what you might have bought.
If you want to eventually buy a nitro heli, then you looking at even more expenditure.
What you should really try hard not to do is spend £200+ on a nasty heli that won't fly properly and will break very easily and you can only get spares from china.
Whats been suggested is the baseline setup of the TRex450 which is not cheap - you can get all of it cheaper than your numbers though.

(PS - I do like KTMs really - they're just a bit left field aren't they - that tank! YUCK )
