  • how do engines work?

    hi there all

just wondering if someone can post me a link showing how a clutch work and how sensors work on a nitro heli?

and also how can i build a heli without a governer if possible.
    thanks

Er governer's never really needed to learn to fly a helicopter

Just make a good throttle curve

Governer's are mainly 3D items to keep the head speed you want no matter what the heli does.

Learning and Basic aerobatics and flying use a decent throttle curve!

no every helicopter/Engine/pipe Combo is different so you need to tweak it to your helicopter and flying style!

              How do engines work ????

Well they are an explosion containment device for the conversion of longditudinal motion into rotary motion !

How do centrifugal clutches work ???

Its a speed dependant rotary deformable disc with a high friction containment device

              Simples....

Internal combustion engines work on the premise of 4 things happening in a given order:

                Suck, Squeeze, Bang and Blow...

Firstly the piston moves down creating a vacuum in the cylinder which is filled by the fuel/air mixture.

The piston then moves up, compressing the mixture.

The mixture is ignited and the resultant force pushes the piston down an expels the exhaust gases.

                Then repeat, a lot...

That animation is for a four stroke a two stroke fires on every upwardstroke
And just to make it sound impressive at 18000rpm this all happens 300 times a second
