been progressing nicely on phoenix, so decided time to get some balls(or should i say remove my training balls a couple of days ago) anyway went out twice yesterday once in the mourning and again in the evening great time in the mourning but the evening !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tried turning the blade 400 nose in nearly got there a couple of times but pulled out 3/4's round ,on about the five attempt got electrical interferrence (youknow what i mean some numpty on the sticks type) and down she went upside down, not too much damage pleased to report, main shaft /feather shaft and 1 servo then out came the century evolution for more play time, mid flight secound battery something went wrong lost all tail control and down she came again not too much damage and she is up flying again today having found the original problem(the tail shaft came out)

Sounds like your making good progress but maybe you should slow down just a tad, yeah it's great to move on to the next step but maybe not at the expense of wrecking your heli's!!!
Training gear off was a good move for sure, enjoy a bit more gentle flying time and if you want a challenge try flying in a breeze
Keep the updates coming

As someone in the same situation of wanting to "crack" nose facing, I'd advise you to take small steps, and make sure you are absolutely sure of your inputs by using Phoenix/Sim. Be completely happy with what you are trying to do, and only then go out and try with the heli for real. More expensive when you get it wrong!! It is NOT as easy as it looks to simply do nose-in!!!

i have been doing it really well(for me) on phoenix but it can't represent the fear of doing it with the real one, where as on phoenix it feels more natural. when i use the heli i start thinking about what i'm doing and then react to slow or too fast and wrong. i don't want to crash but i think the fear of crashing has been holding back, i now have to find the balance between pushing myself and keeping within my limits, hope that makes senseOriginally posted by coptermanic View PostAs someone in the same situation of wanting to "crack" nose facing, I'd advise you to take small steps, and make sure you are absolutely sure of your inputs by using Phoenix/Sim. I found to crack nose in I had to fly figure 8's then gradually turn the heli more and more nose in, but kept in ff, and eventually slowed it down, just got to the point where I was just about in the hover. Pheonix helps massively, my inputs are now automatic in a nose in hover

there was a great thread last week where people gave different ideas how to crack nose in, i tried most of them ,will try that later on phoenix.thanksOriginally posted by simon1 View PostI found to crack nose in I had to fly figure 8's then gradually turn the heli more and more nose in, but kept in ff, and eventually slowed it down, just got to the point where I was just about in the hover. There are numerous ways to approach the Nose In Challenge but I would just add that I did it by re-attaching my training gear then lifting off with the heli Nose In, you can see the blades & heli leaning long before it gets airborne so you know what your inputs are doing!
Just like learning your first steps when flying for the first time, little hops till you gradually see what your inputs are doing, then I started to choose a point where I'd hover to and place it down.
This is also a massive step toward Nose In take off; you just climb gently and flick it round when your clear of the ground, a great feeling when you can get your heli doing what you want!!!
Remember it's meant to be fun so don't rush it and enjoy

I agree with Simon1- you almost learn it by default if it is part of a circuit, then gradually slow down the heli until you have a nose in hover. Start with lazy eights then gradually get the heli more nose in as it does the middle of the circuit.
