  • Is the little Sub-Micro Buzz Fly 3D a good idea?

I'm thinking about getting a Buzz Fly 3D Sub Micro so I can learn how to get inverted and not crash so I don't smash up my big Heli, probably try and get a 2nd hand one from eBay so I don't spend to much.

Just wanna know what your thoughts are, good, bad or indifferent.

It's worth noting that the BuzzFly 3D is the same as the Walkera 4G3 which is a model they're phasing/have phased out in favour of the 4G6 and 4G6S.

On further inspection it looks like the BF 3DS is the Walkera 4G6 (go figure) and BF are not yet offering the 4G6S version (the one with the 3way gyro)

I have a 4g3 and its much harder to fly than a larger heli, practice inverted on the sim, then when confident enough to start learning on a larger heli make sure you start up high with plenty of room for recovery.

get a cheap 450 instead, you'll learn many times faster.
Those small helis are no good, because you never have time to correct your mistakes. Even if you don't care about "large" helis and your ambition is to fly those small ones, get one as a trainer and save time and money.
BTW, I know only few people who stick with small helis in the long run. Either they move on to larger size, or they lose interest and give up.
