Carry case does nothing for your flying Batteries give you time and fun- easy choice imo, unless you have to cart your heli around on public transport.

If you take the heli by car, make a simple thick plywoord base you can fix it to in the boot. Costs almost nothing and stops any transport damage.

Some people like to think they've got the experience to back up what ever rubbish they're spewing, its annoying to see it happen, its the last thing someone relatively new to the hobby needs.

What you'll usually find out is that they'll claim to have many years in the hobby or something but then you find out it was mostly just flying planes and are only new/newish to helis themselves, or they tried helis once a long time ago but then gave it up for a decade and pretend that represents 10 years of experience with helis.

I completely agree with what was said on this thread.. my Raptor has a pretty basic gyro and tail servo set up - the model shop said 'Oh no you want an all singing all dancing gyro and tail servo set'. The guys at the club said - ' Well you will want that eventually, what you have is fine for now while you are learning'

Now I seek advice at the club and on the forums and do my research before I have to visit a model shop. Infact, doing my research has probably saved me visits to the model shop!!
If you can keep your head, when all others around are losing theirs - you have probably not understood the seriousness of the situation!!

A shop telling you that you need to upgrade all servo's simply due to changing your gyro is shameful.

They clearly, simply want to make more money out of you & make you pay for your learning curve.

While it is often good to buy good from the start, to help avoid the whole "buy cheap buy twice" thing, it is not at all necessary. Telling you to get digital servos on the cyclic because you're changing gyro/tail servo is just wrong - he either doesn't know what he's talking about (why does he run a model shop then?) or is blatently just trying to milk what he can out of you.
