  • Aileron servo not working

    Hi guys,

I have bought a cx2 after a 2 year gap from last going on here due to 2 additional new members of the family(although i did check back regularly) when i bought a blade 400 as my 1st heli,I think i made a mistake by going for the blade as my 1st heli and now have a cx2 without a tx aswell.
I have binded it to my dx6i as per several posts i found on the internet but the aileron servo dosen't move when i move the stick, Everything else seems to be working ok,It spins up fine and when it's just about to lift off it tries to tip over to the right side(when looking from behind) and i have to ease off.
I have unplugged both servos 1 at a time and there is no difference.
The servo itself seems ok no broken teeth,But then this wouldn't explain why it has no power.
I know somebody here will know the answer, as i am dying to get it in the air
I've only had it 1 day and i already have the buzz again!!!

    thank you in anticipation.

Well, it's highly likely that your problem is either a failed servo or there is a problem with the 4-in-1.

To troubleshoot this, swap the aileron cables on the 4-in-1 and see if the problem now moves to the other servo. If it does, it means the 4-in-1 is unserviceable. If the problem still stays with the aileron servo, it points to a defective servo.

A servo can fail due to electronic faults and may look physically fine.

For a picture of where the leads and 4-in-1 are, turn to page 40 of the manual.

If it does turn out to be a dodgy servo, they can easily be replaced and are not expensive - click here.

It's also worth checking the cables for damage as it may only need a connector re-soldering or even just pushing home.

Martin is spot on with has advice as always.

One other thing to check is once you have done the checks is the TX. If you find when swapping the servos its appears the 4in1 is the fault then its worth check the Dx6i I assume you have the Dx6i. I say this as I had my rudder pot stop working so it would not move any servo I connectted to my rx (4in1 on your case).

I would imagine that it will be a servo problem.

Thanks Martin i have tested both plugs and the ELE servo works fine on both so the 4-1 is ok and as you say it must be the servo i have wiggled the leads and this has made no difference either.
I bought the heli off Ebay from a really nice guy who assured me that it flew fine when he packed it and i have no reason not to believe him as royal mail messed up delivering it and he was quick to offer me a refund so could it just be bad luck that the servo has gone(maybe while in the postal system).Or could it be some other setting on my TX that is different after all he was using a LP5DSM TX.

And thanks spunkmyer as i have said it seems that it is to do with the servo but if you have any other ideas let me know

I knew some one would know the answer after all this is the HUB of RC HELI's on the internet
