  • Help setting up please.

Hi, I've just finished upgrading my heli's Swash plate, rotor head, fly bar control, fly bar carrier, main blade grips, just about everything from the swash plate up to CNC alli. Now the problem is, when I go to take off, the helli goes left and forward as if I've got the stick in the top corner even when the trim and stick is in the bottom opposite corner (not good as its only 1mm off the ground!). I have made sure the swash is level and the blades are at the correct angle.

The only thing I can think is causing this is the new blades are longer than my old ones as the grips are to big for the old ones, would this make that much difference?

Thanks for your help and thoughts.

Check the swash plate stays level throughout its range of travel and doesn't tip in any direction when you put in more positive pitch.

Have you set it all up correctly, i.e.:

      - Servos at 90?
      - Pitch settings correct?
      - Blades balanced and tracked?
      - Tx trims correctly positioned?
      - etc

I'd go thru the full setup process as if it was a new build and ensure everything is just as it should be.

Check and double check everything, get and check the swashplate stays level along all it's travel both looking at it from the front and the side.

Thanks for all your tips, I'll give them a go. Dose the blade length not overly matter?

How much longer are the blades?
            What heli is it?

              Hey.

As long as both blades are equall is size and mass and preferably the same brand and type sold for that size heli then it should not be this.

More likely as already suggested it will be set up,
swash level in idle up at mid stick, full stick and bottom stick
corect tx settings, all atv at 100% (more or less if adjusted for interactions of the above swash positions)
              Trim or sub trim out
              dual rates off
              Curves correct
servo arms at 90' at mid stick idle up
              Zero pitch at midstick
              Link lengths.
