  • Buying a helicopter on E-bay

I dont have much experience on buying things form e-bay, but I see there are some quite cheap helicopters there.

Does any of you have any experience with buying from online auctions? good? bad?

I'm thinking of moving on from my twister bell medevac, and get a bigger more stable "outdoors" heli. Any suggestions? (I've gotten pretty good ith the Medevac )

ps: I stimbeled across this, anyone know if its any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEWEST-COLCO-6CH...QQcmdZViewItem

if your new too it all see if you can get someone who knows what they are looking at too go with you

do your homework is the heli still made and are parts still redilly available
if you have any doubts in the heli walk away

steer clear from secondhand on ebay unless you've already seen the model in the flesh.. if your a relative noob take someone experienced with you to look over the machine, if thats not an option don't bother considering it.
for your next machine i would recomend something 30-50 size.. if thats not what your after and only want micro... stay away from anything with fixed pitch of any description on it, 450 size is the best way to go in the micros, but to get a quality one up in the air it'll cost you the same money as a 30 size

anything FP is going to be a side step rather than a step forwards.

                          get a sim

get something bigger. minimum trex 450/dragonus but to set those up nicely you could almost buy a 30 or 50 size heli but that means going to the club... which some see as a bad thing. personally i love flying at the club.

My view is the opposite, I got my x-cell fully loaded for about 1/6th of the cost new, sometimes people buy things new and it justs sits around so they think even though they are making a loss its better than nothing, which can be a bargain. I admit some of the servos are not the latest but were the top end gear when bought.

You do need to do your research though, I spent months thinking about what I wanted then waited for it to come up and its imaculate, been professionally checked over and declared like new. Ask a load of questions, if they have good feedback and are UK based you can get a good deal. There seem to be a lot of people buying helis new and then get bored, more money than sense.
