  • hi from colchester

    Hello all,

I am new too rc helis, and i have been trying to setup my heli (twister 3D storm + DX6i)....i have setup the head and servo's and i think they are setup correctly, but i cant seem to setup the gyro (HL400) i cant seem to differentiate between when its in HH mode and rate mode as the light on the gyro stays on regardless.

Also i'd be really greatful if anyone is in the colchester area who would be so kind as to assist me with the setup and take it for a flight so i know its setup correctly.

Hi and welcome to the forum
I am a member of Colchester Model Club you could consider joining there and get some help. The club meetings are monthly and at this time of year are at Nayland, you could bring it along and get it sorted.
If you are really serious about learning to fly then I would recommend you consider taking a few lessons, contactRapid Rotors it will be the best money you spend. you will even be able to use their Trex 600
    Enjoy the hobby its fantastic

Welcome aboard - I'm sure someone will pop along and offer advice on your set-up.

Might also be worth looking on the BMFA web site and popping along to a nearby club - there's sure to be someone there that would help. The BMFA club finder is here:

British Model Flying Association - BMFA - Search for affiliated clubs by county

Select your county from the list and see how you get on.

Me too, all of what he said....

If you bought the model from the local shop they should be able to give it a quick once over but if you get pushed and cant find any help I'm at Sudbury and will meet up some where to take a quick look over your heli for you and make sure it's air worthy but as said by kwickkwack the best option is a visit to Rapid Rotors.

              hello downdraft,
thank you so much for the reply to my thread, i would love to get some lesson rapid rotors but sadly im on quiet a tight budget at the moment, i got the model online and have been learning how to set it up via youtube videos on the Blade 400, but yesterday i managed to damage it and i am hoping to get the replacement parts, i believe i am able to replace the
damaged parts, but it is the setup that is my biggest issue.
I am hoping to join colchester club in 2 weeks time, but would really appreciate it if you are able to assist me in setup....i am more than willing to travel to you if thats ok?
              Many thanks

That garden is a minefield for a heli novice flyer. There's more obstructed airspace than there is clear...
