  • Wood or Carbon blades

Alright folks. There is only one other heli flyer at my club who I always seem to fly on a different day from, so I need a bit of advice from everyone on here.

At the moment I am simply hovering and attempting some figure of 8's. I need a new set of main blades, the question is do I go for woodies or carbon. I know the level of flying i am doing I can still use woodies but I like the idea of a set of matched carbon blades. Are they worth the extra £20 for someone at my level.

    Thanks

There's also glass composite blades as an inbetween house between woodies and carbons.

Worth a thought maybe - better than woodies and not as expensive as carbons.

Not forgetting with glass and carbons you can run a higher headspeed mate so the heli will have much better manners in wind...Not that its windy much these days

If you have a habit of crashing often tho mate I'd say stick to woods
      Cheers,

These would be ideal, but everywhere seems to be out of stock. Anybody know anywhere that has these in stock

Just put some Razors on my Swift. Early feelings are that they are more solid, better balanced (less vibration) and the higher head speed is reassuring.

I am also at the same learning stage, so crashing may be more expensive, but I never really 'trusted' the stock woodies.

LHC have some glass fiber blades for very little more than a set of woodies, or if you want to go carbon but don't want to shell out, JP,s carbon blades are a nice step up, and they are usauly less than 28 quid.
They are not up to the standard of say sab's or NHP's but they make a hell of a difference
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                And a DX8 too

                  I'll second that Jamez.

I've got JP blades on my 30 and they're spot on. They've been on there ever since I built it over a year ago. It's been so long since I bought them that I can't remember how much they were, but no complaints here anyway.

And they look good - mostly white with a grey and black diagonal band bit at the root.
