  • Tail wobble

Hello all. I have a bit of a wobble that appears to be from the tail after an auto that went a little wrong and got a bad case of boom strike.

I have replaced the tail shaft, main shaft and the spindle so guess it could the gyro. Any other ideas?

    Regards

If its a wobble i doubt its the gyro,,is it a vibration type wobble or a left to right wag?

If you changed all the shafts i can only guess it could be main blade balance,flybar/paddle balance or if its a high speed wobble then possibly tail blades or engine misalignment etc

I hate it when you find things like this,,

    What heli is it?

I meant is the flybar perfectly fitted with equal distance each side of head and paddles also matched in distance from the head..

I have never had problems with SAB`s myself but i have heard people who have had balance issues from new so may be wise to balance them..

If you have swapped engines we could rule out any issue from that side of it

What make of heli is this?

I did reset the fly bar and paddles so im sure thats not it now. I have a raptor 50v2 but after my crash i put the titan tail boom, fly bar, belt on it. il see if the blades need balanceing.

          Cheers again

we also tried my tail blades which are fine, and it did nothing, if anything it made it slightly worst (92mm carbons), which makes me think its the gyro playing around, as its a very sharp left right wag. tried adjusting the gain, and makes no difference.

It could be a bent tail hub?
                  Cheers,

Yeah could be an imbalance on the tail.
Had the same with a brand new quick alloy tail unit on my 60 believe it or not...

Replaced hub and tailgrips with standard items for a tenner- Replaced bearings too just incase...Problem gone
                    Cheers,

Something I've learnt recently from experience - a bent tail hub does not cause vibration in the heli, as nothing is actually out of balance. All it does is cause the tail blade tracking to be out.

A bent tail hub definitely needs changing, but it certainly is unlikely to be the cause of vibe problems.

Just thought I'd add that in here from recent experiences.
