Beleive it or not, I got one of the first 600N kits...it's taken me this long to get it ready (time...money...wife...etc). At the time Slough Models didn't have any and I had more ambition and had to get started.
Anyway, a few years later here we are. I figured seeing as I got it from Skyline, best to take it there.
Then the next step is to come to Slough RC club and get learning. I'll certainly be joining up (subject to a positive visit of course).
Of course Slough Models have also enjoyed a lot of my money over the years...and will to come I think as I start to get into the swing of this.
Nervous...yes!

I must say I'd rather use Skyline than Slough to be honest. I know they all have to make a living but Slough models take the pi$$.Originally posted by tourerjim View PostSkyline Models! when your in Slough" Slough Models yikes then.
I went in there the other week for a tail belt for my 450 and was told it'd be cheaper to buy a Torque Tube for it. I said I didnt want to go that route cause by the time I'd changed all the gears it'd work out more expensive. Plus the amount of times I crash and land hard I'd be forever having to replace it all.
This was the reply. "You dont need to change any of the gears & the 450 TT is almost indestructable"
They must think I just sailed up the Thames on a biscuit!Guy

You're not kidding. I'm not the biggest fan either but they are cheap and I can get it right now being fairly local. I bought the heli, the motor, the servos and the gyro etc from Skyline. Many moons ago I remember going in asking about the Gyro and servo stuff and they made me feel like a moron.Originally posted by Gate88 View PostI must say I'd rather use Skyline than Slough to be honest. I went in there and asked for a flybar for my 450 SE V2 and when I got home realized the ones they'd sold me were too short and too thin (probably off the old V1) so I took them back and they wanted to charge me the 25p difference (bear in mind I spend a fortune in there anyway), when I said it was their mistake and its cost me about £5 in petrol and an hour round trip to get back there they said that it was down to me to check goods befor leaving?Originally posted by kungpo View PostYou're not kidding.
