The Thinder Tiger Innovator is an excellent (I think the best) first CP helicopter, but they are not quite £400-£500, they are £360-£400. I sold my Innovator MD 530 recently for £225, but am keeping the Innovator Expert. Second hand would be a good option.Originally posted by dam74 View PostI would of suggested the Thunder Tiger MD530 Innovator as it's apparently quite a nice little heli to start off with and has self-trimming/correcting software so if you crash it and slightly put the heli out of alignment it will correct this for you. So I hear anyway, haven't seen it in action myself
The only downside on this heli is the price. I think they sell for around the £400-500 so they're out of reach for the beginner on a low budget.Edmund

Shrug I googled M530 Innovator and the shops that came back were stocking them for those prices.Originally posted by EtheAv8r View PostThe Thinder Tiger Innovator is an excellent (I think the best) first CP helicopter, but they are not quite £400-£500, they are £360-£400. My bad, the original search I did was coming back with shop prices of £400-500. Just redid teh search and Fastlads have them for £350. At that price though it is still £175-200 more than the BladeSR.Originally posted by EtheAv8r View PostThe Thinder Tiger Innovator is an excellent (I think the best) first CP helicopter, but they are not quite £400-£500, they are £360-£400. No need for appologies.... done in good faith.Originally posted by dam74 View PostMy bad, the original search I did was coming back with shop prices of £400-500. Just redid teh search and Fastlads have them for £350. At that price though it is still £175-200 more than the BladeSR.
They are quite different machines (having seen the Blade SR that the Rep took into Inwoods in January) but yes the Blade SR does look a great bargain (particularly if you compare and contrast what you get with the mSR and what it costs).Last edited by EtheAv8r; 08-03-2010, 12:23 PM.Edmund

Yup I too would have recommended the Innovator. I think most here know how much I like it. But with the introduction of the SR and the fact that the tx will work with Phoenix, plus its seemingly reasonable RTF price, It does on the face of it appear to be a good starting point for a beginner on a budget.
Now having said that, I absolutly adore my Innovator and If your budget can stretch to it I can heartily recommend it. Its a fabulous beginners heli

The innovator looks great but it's a bit to much for me right now so I think the sr is the way forward !
Let us know when you get one and how you get on with it

Do you think it might be better to get the phoenix sim first ?? sorry but I suppose I want to make sure that i'm competant in flying techniques.
And i guess you can try out moves on a sim first instead of destroying the heli in a bad crash!!
sorry for being a pain !!

There,s only one flaw with that plan, and that is, you will need a transmitter to use with Phoenix.
So it means you need to get the heli and tx first. Or better still get them all at the same time.
As for which one to use first. Well that's got to be Phoenix

Hi all,
So i have now saved up my pennies and i'm ready to order a new blade sr and phoenix simulater.
I just have a quick question about spare battries for the sr?? Could anyone point me in the right direction ?
Is there other brands I could use and where could I get them from?
Many thanks
Nathan

I've got a feeling that the SR batteries are newly developed specifically for it.
It may be worth you starting a new thread in the main forum with this question.
